The new you
Will cost you the old oneAnd that’s what makes growth so scary.
So painful.
So hard.It means the death of everything we know:
The person we’ve been.
The comfort we’ve built.
The things we’ve been sure of.I struggled with this growing up
Since my mum was a compulsive hoarder. She couldn’t throw things out because
she found letting go too painful. But here’s the thing I learned:
To grow
We have to let go.And the only thing more painful than growth?
Staying stuck where you are.
With that gnawing feeling you’re meant for more.Growth will never be easy.
The caterpillar has to digest itself
Before it can become a butterfly. But that’s what makes growth so valuable.
It’s always hard-earned.3 things that help you grow:
1/ Being kind to yourself
This isn’t easy.
You’re doing better than you think.2/ Trusting the process
Feeling lost is normal.
You’re right on track.3/ Honouring the struggle
As George Mumford says,
“No struggle, no swag”.Max De Pree put it best:
“We cannot become what we want
By remaining what we are”.What’s one thing you’re doing to grow?
I’d love to hear below.♻️ Repost to help others grow.
