• Chinyere Eni is an inspiring and innovative leader in Canadian banking, currently serving as the Executive Head of RBC Origins, formerly known as RBC Indigenous Banking. She leads the bank’s efforts to drive economic prosperity among Indigenous communities by integrating financial services for governments, not-for-profits, businesses, and retail clients. A member of the Little Pine First Nation in Saskatchewan and of Igbo descent from Nigeria, Eni brings an intersectional perspective to her work and is deeply committed to advancing social and economic inclusion through meaningful reconciliation actions at RBC.

Her personal journey is remarkable: overcoming childhood cancer and the loss of a leg, she cultivated resilience and a passion for community service from a young age. Eni began her career at RBC as a Customer Service Officer and rose through leadership roles in Commercial Financial Services, delivering strategic advice to diverse businesses. She chairs governance at Wilfrid Laurier University and supports disability-related organizations, reflecting her commitment to mentorship and representation.

Under Eni’s leadership, RBC Origins launched the country’s first Truth and Reconciliation Office within a major financial institution, marking a new model of collaboration with Indigenous peoples based on transparency and accountability. She has emphasized honoring systemic barriers, combating imposter syndrome, and creating spaces for Indigenous voices in corporate decision-making. Statistics show Indigenous entrepreneurship is rapidly growing in Canada, with Indigenous-owned businesses increasing at nine times the rate of non-Indigenous ones, placing Eni’s focus on supporting these enterprises at the forefront of economic transformation.
